In December 2019, I felt trapped. The scale read 263 pounds, and I was stuck in a cycle of diets that left me feeling deprived and defeated. At my heaviest, 283 pounds in 2018, I had stopped attending Weight Watchers meetings, though I continued paying for them—a small gesture of hope that one day, I might find the strength to return.
That day came on Christmas Eve. Something about the holiday season made me realize I couldn’t keep going like this. I walked into my local Weight Watchers meeting feeling nervous and unsure, but I also felt a flicker of determination.
